East AlabamaWorks, in collaboration with the Sylacauga Chamber of Commerce, recently organized an Educators in Industry day for career tech educators from Sylacauga High School.
The event began with a tour of the Blue Bell Creameries Ice Cream plant in Sylacauga, where attendees learned about the various careers involved in the producing, storing, and distributing their products.
Following a treat of samples of their favorite Blue Bell Ice Cream flavors, the group traveled to Coosa Valley Medical Center for a working lunch. This included a panel discussion featuring Chelsey Strong (Muscadine Marketing), Bill Whaley (American Honda Motor Co.), Janean Crawford (Coosa Valley Medical Center), and Jason Watters (Alabama Power Company).
The day concluded with a tour of the hospital and its numerous departments.
