Guidance counselors from Oxford City Schools joined with officials from the Calhoun County Economic Development Council, East AlabamaWorks, and the Calhoun County Chamber of Commerce for another day of Educators Workforce Readiness tours.  The counselors started their morning with a welcome breakfast in the Oxford High School media center.  The counselors then split into two groups for their industry tours.  One group toured Aerospace Coatings and Bridgewater Interiors, while the other group visited General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems and New Flyer. Both groups wrapped up their tours with a visit to the EDC’s new Oxford West Industrial Park. A final discussion session was held over lunch back at the OHS media center.  Five more local educator tours are already on the calendar over the next few so that additional educators from around Calhoun County may attend as well.

Specials thanks to Oxford Superintendent Dr. Jeff Goodwin and OHS Principal Mr. Heath Harmon for their assistance and the use of the OHS campus as the tour “headquarters” for the day.
