June 10, 2020 – As the COVID-19 continues its negative impact on East Alabama employment, there is light at the end of the tunnel as many area businesses and industries have continued to hire new employees and many businesses and industries that had cut back or shut down begin to reopen. As a result, EAst AlabamaWorks – working in conjunction with a number of local groups – participated in a Skilled Industrial Job Fair on Wednesday, June 10 at the Oxford Civic Center. Just more than a dozen regional employers welcomed in 377 jobseekers. Special thanks to the Oxford Fire Department for being on hand to help encourage the following of pandemic safety recommendations.
