SUMMARY
The purpose of the electrician trainee’s position is to learn to perform repairs, preventive/predictive maintenance, testing, and process improvements on all mechanical, electrical, electronic, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment and systems. The electrician trainee must rely on their knowledge of electrical and mechanical principles in order to troubleshoot malfunctions to equipment and systems and to repair and restore operation.

Requirements
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
•An associate’s degree in an electrical field or equivalent experience.
•Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate with all levels of associates.
•Excellent attendance record.
•Demonstrated high energy level, strong work ethic, and positive approach to problem solving.
•Advanced experience using power tools, measuring devices, and other hand tools.
•Training in performing advanced preventive maintenance procedures.
•The ability to work with others in identifying and solving complex manufacturing problems.
•The ability to work independently with little or no direct supervision.
•The ability to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted
•Basic to intermediate training in reading electrical, and mechanical diagrams, drawings, and specifications
•Intermediate training in understanding procedures to test for, locate, and repair electrical malfunctions
•Basic training in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, hydraulic, HVAC, and pneumatic equipment and systems
•Basic to intermediate training in diagnosing and repairing electrical (incl power supplies, motor drives, & transformers) and electronic ( incl. programmable and numeral controls) equipment and systems
•Basic knowledge of electrical/electronic and mechanical principles

Additional information
The position will not be eligible for the rotating shift premium until assigned to the rotation. The associate in this position should be prepared to work shifts and to bid on day and/or shift electrician’s positions within the scope of the job posting system.
