Two informational meetings have been set for students and parents who are interested in learning more about the new East Alabama FAME program at Gadsden State Community College. The meetings will be held on Tuesday, March 19 and Thursday, April 11 at 5:30 p.m. in the computer science auditorium on the Gadsden State Ayers Campus on Coleman Road in Anniston.

FAME is an industry-led education program through which students can earn an associate degree in Industrial Automation Technology while earning a steady paycheck by working inside a sponsoring industry at the same time. While in the FAME program, students can earn $24,000 or more over their two-year term of study to cover their education expenses. (Grants and other forms of financial aid are also a possibility.) Students will attend classes two days a week (16 hours per week) and then apply their classroom lessons and gain valuable work experience by working for a sponsoring company three days a week (24 hours per week).

FAME combines cutting-edge curriculum that supports advanced manufacturing technology, paid working experience, and highly sought after business principles and best practices of world class manufacturers.
