East AlabamaWorks is pleased to announce the addition of Kayla Bowman to our workforce development team. Kayla will serve as Program Coordinator for East AlabamaWorks.
Kayla joins East AlabamaWorks with more than seven years of experience working in the education system. She is driven by the mission of motivating students to develop and expand their employability skills, which will allow them to be successful in the workplace.
After graduating from Jacksonville State University in 2015, Kayla had a distinguished career with the Alabama State Department of Education working with Jacksonville City Schools and Cleburne County Schools. For the past seven years, Kayla has worked closely with educators and education leaders to provide knowledge and skill through the personal development of social, intellectual, and emotional abilities.
East AlabamaWorks Executive Director, Lisa Morales says “We are delighted to welcome Kayla Bowman to the East AlabamaWorks team. Our K – 12 and postsecondary schools are critical to developing the workforce pipeline. Kayla’s knowledge of education makes her a valuable asset to the team as well as to business and industry. Kayla will be focused on bringing information and opportunities to students of all ages on everything from what industry wants in an employee to high-wage, high-demand job needs in East Alabama.”
Kayla resides in Heflin with her husband and two children. When she is not working, she enjoys spending time with her family, volunteering at her church, and attending community events.
