Back in October, East AlabamaWorks helped with the first ever Driving STEM program at the Talladega Superspeedway! More than 550 students from local schools came to the brand-new Talladega Garage Experience to learn about science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) and its relation in the sport of NASCAR.

Students had the opportunity to learn via Q&A sessions with NASCAR drivers, tours through the NASCAR Cup Series Garage to see teams in action getting their cars prepped, stations featuring future job possibilities thanks to representatives from NASA/Polaris, Hoar Construction, and more, and they also were able to view practice for the NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series.

We’re looking forward to the next race weekend and hosting more students at Talladega – the biggest and baddest race track in the word!
